The university's Master of Public Administration Program was established in 1966 to offer the MPA degree. It was a joint program of the Department of Political Science and the Institute of Government though its director was appointed by and responsible to the chairman of the Department of Political Science. In 1997, it became part of the Institute of Government. Records include correspondence and other files relating to the administration and curricula of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, including many files on scholarships, fellowships, and internships for MPA students.
